GPL Wk 12 Preview: Hearts of Oak travel to Akoon Park to face Medeama, Kotoko host Allies

The Ghana Premier League enters Week 12 midweek with Hearts of Oak making a trip to the west to play Medeama Sporting Club.

Asante Kotoko will also host Inter Allies at the Accra Sports Stadium.

In-form Great Olympics were unstoppable against King Faisal at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday when they faced off.

The ‘Dade boys’ despite missing the services of key player Gladson Awako scored three against King Faisal.

Charles Danso and Samuel Ashie scored the first two goals for Olympics before Frimpong Boateng got a consolation for King Faisal but Michael Yeboah added the third to push Olympics into the second possition on the league table.

Asante Kotoko

Kumasi Asante Kotoko will sit at the Accra Sports Stadium to play host to struggling Inter Allies.

Despite changing coaches on three different occasions, Allies have struggled to get consecutive wins this season and are without a win in their last 4 games.

Worse still, they have scored just a goal in their last five away games against Asante Kotoko.

The Porcupine Warriors might bounce back to winning ways after failing to do so in their last two games.

Accra Hearts of Oak will be hoping to put the derby defeat at the back of their minds as they travel to a difficult venue in Tarkwa.

The Yellow and Mauves have always made things difficult for the Phobians in Tarkwa and their only win there came in 2016 under Kenichi Yatsuhashi.

Medeama SC have had a slow start to their campaign this season and three points against Hearts of Oak might be a turning point for them.

Medeama

Legon Cities Football Club have had some decent results in their last two outings including the 5-2 thrashing of AshantiGold SC but will need to work above their strength to make it three straight wins as they face first-placed Karela United.

The Royals will take motivation from the fact that Karela United have been poor on the road this season.

WAFA, after going ruthless against Liberty Professionals in Week 11, make a trip to Dawu to face the only team yet to taste defeat in 2021, Dreams FC.

The exit of Lomotey has definitely not affected WAFA as they have continued to score goals but will have to be wary of their defence and the form of Agyenim Boateng and Joseph Esso at Dawu this season.
