Chairman is quick to remove credit from a kid – Stonebwoy replies Rocky Dawuni?

Amidst the ongoing dissensus about who or what criteria qualifies one as a Grammy nominee, Stonebwoy has thrown a subtle jab at presumably those who disqualify his stance.

Sightings of a cryptic message on dancehall artiste Livingston Satekla’s Snapchat handle shows that the dancehall artiste is displeased with comments regarding the validity of his Grammy nomination.

He wrote, “ Chairman is so quick to remove credit on a kid! We know them oo. But we think say them change o chai them never change.”

Since the news of Stonebwoys supposed multiple Grammy nominations became public, some industry patrons have challenged his claim, including Kwame Dadzie of Citi FM and Rocky Dawuni. Stonebwoys ‘controversial’ nomination rides on his features on two nominated albums.

Stonebwoy on Grammy nomination controversy

According to Rocky Dawuni, there is a difference between featuring on a nominated album and having your body of work nominated. He also revealed in the interview that a contribution (feature) does not make one a nominee of the recording academy.

“You have contributed to the song, but you are not a nominee. The thing is, I am not the one saying it. You should go to the Academy website and see who the nominees are.

“I think that sometimes…been featured on a record is a great achievement. It’s really great, but we have to also recognize what is… we can’t create our own rules here and be using those rules,” Rocky Dawuni asserted.

This explanation and clarity seem to have not gone down well with Stonebwoy. His recent social media activity has left a lot of questions, with many wondering if he is really taking a dig at his senior in the industry.
