Otto Addo is top-notch coach — Prosper Addo

The General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Prosper Harrison Addo, has fended off criticisms of ex-Black Stars coach, Otto Addo, describing him as a top-notch manager.

The competence of the Borussia Dortmund scout, who guided the Black Stars to qualify for their fourth World Cup in Qatar last year, came under criticisms after he led the team to exit in the first round of the tournament.

Despite that the GFA chief scribe believes his competence is without a doubt and won’t buy into augments that suggest Otto is a bad tactician.

Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM, Addo said the 47-year-old gaffer brought some new ideas to the job and demonstrated a lot of capabilities.

“I can confidently say that no one can convince me he was a bad coach for Ghana. He brought in fresh ideas, tactical acumen and a deep understanding of the game,” Harrison Addo said.

This, he said, was the view of many people around the team, including the players who all considered him as a top-class manager.

“You can ask everybody on the national team, including the players, and they will tell you Otto Addo is top-notch.”
