Fans of popular Nollywood actress, Moyo Lawal, have taken to various social media platforms to express their views on a video allegedly depicting her engaged in an intimate act with an unidentified man.
The video, which went viral yesterday, prominently featured both the actress and her companion on a bed in what appeared to be a hotel room.
Since the video surfaced, the actress has faced substantial criticism from her fan base. However, she has chosen not to address the issue directly, instead opting to share a picture of herself on set.
In response to the video, a fan John Joshua remarked, “Many celebrities have intentionally leaked their private images for publicity and connections that remain unknown to us.”
Another fan, Tina Omovo, expressed disappointment, stating, “You celebrities are expected to be role models to your audience. You are the last person I expected this from.”
Erugo Blessing, commenting on Lawal’s recent set picture, suggested, “This picture should be captioned, ‘No leaked video can bring me down’.”
Sri George offered words of encouragement, writing, “Kindly do not let this distress you. Instead, use it as a stepping stone towards greater opportunities.”
While Lawal is known for occasionally sharing provocative content online, she previously asserted in one of her videos that being associated with any form of sex-related controversy would be the last thing to negatively impact her online presence. She stated, “I have made numerous sacrifices and turned down many opportunities. People know my stance on sexual matters, so using that against me would be futile.”
The actress has frequently maintained that, despite certain public perceptions, she does not consider herself as ‘daring’ as some may think. She clarified, “Whatever I have done, I haven’t been as ‘daring’ as an average person.”
In a surprising turn of events, an account under the handle @moyolawalofficial, purportedly belonging to the actress, posted on Saturday, “The lady in this clip is not me. Please stop spreading false information. That’s not me, please stop spreading misinformation.”
However, many have contended that this is a parody account, with the actress’s authentic account believed to be @moyolawal.
