The Player’s Status Committee (PSC) of the Ghana Football Association have ordered Kumasi Asante Kotoko to pay their erstwhile coach Maxwell Konadu $41,000 as compensation for a unilateral breach of contract.
After Asante Kotoko parted ways with Maxwell Konadu, he filled a petition before the football governing body for unlawful termination of his contract.
Konadu felt sought for damages worth $60,000, a one year salary of $36,000, the remainder of a sign-on fee of GH¢ 30,000 and a winning bonus of GH¢ 2,000.
The Player Status Committee rejected Konadu’s request for damages but granted him partial reliefs including paying of the rest of his owed salaries and allowances.
Asante Kotoko have however said they will appeal the decision.
“The club shall exhaust all legal remedies available to it including pursuing the matter at the Court of Arbitration of Sports (CAS),” part of the statement reads.
