Piesie Esther features gospel all stars on Waye Meyie

GOSPEL musician, Piesie Esther has revealed she has employed the services of a galaxy of Ghanaian Gospel stars on a rendition of her hit song Waye Meyie.

The song which drops next month has a ‘dollop’ of Ohemaa Mercy, Obaapa Christy, Celestine Donkor, Joyce Blessing, MOGmusic, Kofi Peprah and Ceccy Twum.

According to Piesie Esther, Waye Meyie, All Stars rendition will be bigger the original song considering the kind of musicians who joined her to make it.

She told Graphic Showbiz that a lot of musicians came to mind when she decided to do the new rendition. The one who finally made the list were carefully selected to achieve the expected goal.

“We had to fast for a month to come up with the names of the artistes we wanted to feature on the song and I am glad all those we invite did not turn down the offer and delivered as expected of them. When I listen to the final production, I am confident the song will go places”, she said.

She disclosed she had planned initially to feature some international artistes but time did not allow her to do so.

Away from the new version of Waye Meyie, Piesie Esther who has seven nominations in this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) said she is confident of wining at least five awards this year including the ultimate award come May 6 when the final awards takes place.

She has earned nods in categories including Artiste of the Year, Best Video, Most Popular Song, Gospel Artiste of the Year, Gospel Song of the Year, Best Female Vocalist and  Best Song Write.

Piesie Esther has been in the music industry for 20 years and she says it is by the His Grace that she keeps releasing hit songs.

“It is not easy to be in the music industry for 20 years and still do hit songs but I thank God I am able to do that. I will urge my fans to vote for me to win awards in this year’s VGMA”, she added.
