Being artistic requires creative mind -Emma The Painter

Fast rising multimedia artiste, Emmanuel Asare Boapensem widely known as Emma The Painter has dispelled the commonly held perception that people who are intellectually weak venture into the arts.

He said the notion which has eaten deep into our educational system with students opting for visual arts and other subjects in the arts being regarded as poor academic products should not be encouraged.

Speaking with Graphic Showbiz, Emmanuel The Painter said the arts, particularly painting is a powerful form of self-expression which has helped him to communicate in different ways and what he couldn’t speak about.

He noted that very unique people with creative minds were into various units of the arts- Painting and drawing, Sculpting, Needle work, Drama, Music, Dance, Creative writing and Photography.

“Painting is a powerful form of self-expression. It has been used by creative minds since time immemorial to record ideas and experiences. One does not need to know how to speak or read to engage in this form of language.

“It has helped me in various forms and what is more important is that, I’m making a living of it without waiting for government to hand me a job,” he said.

Emmanuel The Painter said he was happy to be sharing his gift with the world and looks forward to contest in international competitions to shoot up his credentials.

Emma The Painter has works of prominent figures such as D Kwaku Oteng, Founder of Angel Group of Companies and he is looking forward to do painting works of the likes of President Nana Akufo Addo and astute world leaders including President of USA, Joe Biden.
