Black Stars to fly out to Madagascar on Friday

Coach Chris Hughton and his Black Stars squad are expected to leave Accra for Madagascar on Friday.

The team who started camping in Accra on Monday are due to play their Madagascar counterpart in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier in Antananarivo on Sunday.

Victory for the Black Stars will see them book a ticket to the next edition of the competition scheduled for Cote d’Ivoire next year.

The coach would be travelling with 24 players after Gideon Mensah was ruled out of the game due to injury.

Ghana sits on top of Group E with 8 points and could qualify with a game to spare if they win on Sunday.

So far, Hafiz Konkoni is the only local based player who was invited to be part of the squad for this trip.
