Too much negativity from Ghanaians affecting football – GFA Technical Director

The Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Bernhard Lippert, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the negative actions and narratives displayed by Ghanaians, identifying them as hindrances to the GFA’s activities.

Lippert made these remarks during the launch of the Ghana Football Philosophy (DNA), a comprehensive framework that aims to define Ghanaian football. Developed over a two-year period, the process began after Lippert assumed his role in 2020.

The Ghana Football DNA serves as a coaching and playing philosophy for Ghanaian football, encompassing various aspects such as playing style, current football trends, strengths and weaknesses, and an implementation plan to enhance the game.

However, Lippert emphasized the importance of a positive attitude from Ghanaians to ensure the successful implementation of this philosophy.

He called upon all stakeholders to embrace a supportive mindset, urging the media to contribute by offering solutions and adopting a positive approach. Lippert emphasized the need for collaboration and unity to achieve their shared goals.

“One of the biggest challenges especially for our GFA is a lot of negativity here in the country. I will beg all stakeholders to implement such a thing like this to help each other to be positive. Media people there is too much negativity. Give solutions, be positive, work together… we have to come closer together to get these things done” Lippert said.

His message resonates with the sentiments expressed by GFA President Kurt Okraku during the recent 29th Ordinary Congress held in Kumasi. Both Lippert and Okraku emphasized the need to address the prevailing negativity and encourage a more constructive and collaborative environment within Ghanaian football.

By fostering a positive atmosphere and working together, the GFA aims to overcome challenges and propel Ghanaian football to greater heights. The implementation of the Ghana Football Philosophy requires collective efforts and a shift towards a more optimistic and solution-oriented mindset from all stakeholders involved.
