Dechemso clash with Santasi in MTN Ashantifest football semis

The clash between Dechemso and Santansi in the MTN Ashantifest community gala would be the main focus of attention when the competition enters the semi-finals stage at the Dechemso Otumfuo Park on Friday.

Dechemso which qualified from Zone B as leaders have been phenomenal in the competition and managed to beat Amakom community in the quarter finals via a 4-3 penalty shootout after the game ended 1-1 in regulation time.

Santasi, on the other hand, has been tipped as favourites to win this year’s competition following their impressive performance at the group stage after winning all the group games to top in Zone D and qualify for the quarter finals.

Their superiority was once again exhibited in the quarter finals when they fought hard to dispatch Bantama courtesy Stephen Owusu Banahene’s only goal on the day to book a mouth-watering date with Dechemso.

As host community, Dechemso is expected to rally behind their massive home support to dump Santasi in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.

Even before these two would be separated for a slot in the final, it would be preceded by another semi-final clash between Ejisu and Kwadaso.

Ejisu’s Tahiru Awudu, who has so far scored two goals in the competition, would be one of the players to watch as he would be aiming to add to his goal tally.

The two teams would be coming into this game with contrasting tales from their quarter final matches. While Ejisu laboured to beat Ashtown 1-0, Kwadaso relied on a goal each from Emmanuel Duah and Emmanuel Owusu Boakye to beat Suame 2-0.
