Medeama to face Remo Stars in CAF Champions League

Reigning Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC will face Nigerian side Remo Stars in the first preliminary round of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.

This was revealed at the draw of the CAF inter-club competitions which took place at the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday, July 25.

Medeama SC are set to make their debut in the Champions League having previously competed in the CAF Confederation Cup in 2014 and 2017.

The Tarkwa-based club will first play host to Remo Stars at the Cape Coast Stadium before travelling to Nigeria for the second leg.

The preliminary round is scheduled from Friday, August 18 to 20 for the first leg matches while the second leg matches will be played from August 25 to 27.

The second preliminary encounters are scheduled for September 15 to 17 and September 19 to October 1, 2023.

The winner of this tie will play against Guinean giants Horoya AC in the second preliminary round to fight for a place in the group stage.
