The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup ended on Sunday, August 20 at the Sydney Stadium, Australia and Spain are the champions for the first time after defeating England 1-0.
However, the Spanish players aren’t the only ones that will go home with hardware. The awards for Golden Boot, Golden Ball, Golden Glove and Young Player of the Tournament were handed out before the trophy ceremony on Sunday.
Below is the full list of winners.
Young Player of the Tournament: Salma Paralluelo, Spain
Spain’s 19-year-old star Salma Paralluelo was awarded Young Player of the Tournament after scoring as a substitute in both the semi-final and quarter-final. She was awarded for her contributions by getting the starting nod over two-time Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas in the final against England. Her outstanding performance in this tournament is an indication of what is to come for her in the coming years.

Golden Glove: Mary Earps, England
Goalkeeper Mary Earps was one of England’s star performers in the Women’s World Cup final with her acrobatic saves keeping the Lionesses in the tournament and within touching distance of Spain throughout the final. Earps’ consistent brilliance throughout the competition won her the Golden Glove awarded to the best goalkeeper of the World Cup, but she told reporters after the 1-0 defeat to Spain that she would “have traded it any day for a gold medal,” though she might appreciate her achievement “when the emotion settles.” The 30-year-old Manchester United star recording three clean sheets in seven matches.
Mary Earps of England
Golden Boot: Hinata Miyazawa, Japan
Despite being knocked out in the quarterfinals, Japan’s Hinata Miyazawa took home the Golden Boot for scoring a tournament-high five goals, two of which came in Japan’s 4-0 win over eventual-champions Spain. Four players finished with four goals. They are Sweden’s Amanda Ilestedt, France’s Kadidiatou Diani, the Netherland’s Jill Roord and Germany’s Alexandra Popp.
Golden Ball: Aitana Bonmati, Spain
Spain’s Aitana Bonmato won the Golden Ball award to become the best player on the best team at the tournament. The Barcelona midfielder was instrumental to Spain’s success from the very start of the tournament, recording three goals and two assists. Although she didn’t score or assist in the World Cup final, her fingerprints were all over the match, completing 42 of her 44 passes.
