Man arrested for pirating ‘Jagun Jagun’ movie

Nollywood actor and producer Femi Adebayo has taken a significant step by leading efforts to arrest an individual involved in the unauthorised distribution of his recent movie “Jagun Jagun.

The arrest was made after Femi Adebayo’s team uncovered evidence of a man who had been distributing unauthorised copies of “Jagun Jagun” through various online platforms and physical copies.

In a series of posts on his Instagram page, he held that the illegal distribution of content not only undermined the film’s revenue but also breached the intellectual property rights that are crucial for sustaining the creative industry.

Femi Adebayo had in a recent interview, revealed he sold some of his properties to fund ‘Jagun Jagun’, which he described as a multi-million Naira project and would not look on for pirates to have their way.

Sharing the pictures on his official Instagram page, the actor stated that some other individuals involved in the act had been arrested.

He wrote, “Piracy is a criminal act that threatens the very essence of our creative industry. Persons have already begun pirating this labour of love. Some have been apprehended like in the photo, and we’re relentlessly pursuing others and bring them to book!
Our search includes persons downloading the movie from unauthorized sites, including telegram groups!
These actions are a grave impediment to Nollywood’s rightful place in the entertainment industry.
If you possess any information about individuals involved in producing or distributing pirated copies of Jagun Jagun, I implore you to share it with us immediately via DM or email. We really have to protect Nollywood’s future and support legitimate creators.”

Femi Adebayo, who played a lead role in “Jagun Jagun” and also produced the movie, has been an advocate for stronger measures against piracy.

He expressed his determination to protect the hard work and dedication that goes into creating original content within the entertainment industry.
