FC Samartex 1996 will give their fans a sneak peek into their readiness for the upcoming betPawa Premier League campaign as they take on Legon Cities this afternoon in the opening match of the Nsenkyire Cup 2023 at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex at Samreboi in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality.
After bolstering their squad with some key recruitments and intensive pre-season preparation at the serene Safari Valley Resort, Samartex will test their strength against Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin’s side who are also using the three-day competition to fine-tune their preparations for the commencement of the league on September 16.
Other participating teams are Nsoatreman FC and Berekum Chelsea who clash in the second match of the day (kick-off is a 4:00p.m).
Legon Cities go into action again tomorrow when they play against Chelsea in the first match, with FC Samartex and taking on Nsoatreman FC in the second fixture.On Sunday, Legon Cities take on Nsoatreman FC at 1:00 p.m. before host FC Samartex and Cheslea clash in the second encounter to bring down the curtains on the competition.

The Nsenkyire Cup, sponsored annually by the Samartex Timber and Plywood Company Limited, is an initiative of the management of FC Samartex 1996 to provide a platform for the team’s preparation towards the football season. It dates back to the club’s early years in the Division One League and featured teams in the second tier competition.
