Coach Karim Zito: Dreams FC targeting top four finish

After an unimpressive campaign in the local league last season, Dreams FC coach Abdul Karim Zito has targeted a top-four finish in the upcoming betPawa Premier League season.

Last season, the Dawu-based side struggled at the start of the league and had to fight hard during the second round to finish sixth on the league log.

Speaking to Graphic Sports in an interview last Friday, Coach Zito said he does not want his side to suffer the predicament of last season and he is already working hard to ensure he finishes among the best four teams on the league log next season.

“Our target for the season is to, at least, get to the top four and the rest will follow,” the coach hinted, stating that the club would be starting the season with some young and energetic players who are ready to buy into the philosophy of the club.

The coach admitted that the past two seasons had been very challenging for the club and they had to struggle but was confident that the coming season will see their fortunes changed because of the reforms they have introduced to the club.

“We’ll be better than the last two seasons because we were not stable for the past two seasons and you’ll notice that as the season progresses, we struggled.

However, this time around, we have to do a bit of amendment to check ourselves because we don’t want that thing to happen to us again,” he stated.

The coach said they have now mapped out a strategy that would ensure the players buy into the new strategy and work towards achieving the single goal.

“We sat and decided on what to do and how to go about it. This time around, we have engaged young boys who listen and do what we want them to do.”
