Veteran Highlife musician, Adane Best says it will be wrong for anyone to dislike his music when he composes a song for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) or National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to him, he has bills to pay and any political party that will approach him should know that it is strictly business and nothing else.

“If you don’t patronise my songs because I did a song for either the NDC or NPP then you never liked my songs.

“I am a musician and a businessman and I need to pay the bills. If any political party comes today and wants me to do a song, I will hit the studio and get it done and I expect Ghanaians to understand that it is business.

“I don’t know why anyone would have problems with me that I did a song for a political party. Daddy Lumba did a song for the New Patriotic Party (NPP); likewise, Nacee who did it for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and yet we still enjoy their music,” he told Graphic Showbiz in a recent interview. 

Adane Best is planning a big concert dubbed ‘The Ayitey Concert’ come February next year, to celebrate 32 years in the music industry.

“Ayitey is the first song I released and I am proud to say it will be 32 years come February next year. I believe it is worth celebrating considering the impact of the song. I have invited some of the best highlife musicians for the big concert and I pray it goes well.  After the concert I will be releasing my 11th studio album and the songs on the album will blow the minds of Ghanaians,” he said.

Adane Best says he spends quality time on his songs before bringing them out because he wants them to be a living testimony. “I don’t just release songs for releasing sake but I make sure they carry messages that last forever,” he said.
