Kotoko eye first home win

Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Aduana Stars will renew their rivalry tomorrow evening as the two sides clash at the Baba Yara Stadium in Matchday Five of the betPawa Ghana Premier League which sets up some intriguing fixtures.

Kotoko have ensured a difficult start to the season and only managed their first victory against Accra Lions last Monday and will be seeking their first home win in three matches to get their campaign back on track.

With just one win and two draws in four games, Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum will need all the three points at stake to lift his side from the 10th spot on the log and also ease pressure on his players.

Blay boost

Boosted by the return of midfielder Justice Blay from injury, the respected gaffer will need to explore every tactical machinery to ensure they record their first win at home.

However, Aduana Stars — fifth on the log and just a point ahead of Kotoko — will fight tooth and nail to earn a valuable point away, having lost their last two away matches to FC Samartex and Legon Cities.

On Saturday, league leaders Bofoakwa Tano will be seeking their third consecutive home win when they play Bibiani GoldStars at the Sunyani Coronation Park.

Bofoakwa are turning their home ground into a waterloo for visiting clubs having recorded wins against RTU (2-1) and Hearts of Oak (1-0) and will aim to keep the momentum and take advantage of GoldStars’ poor form on the road this season.

On Sunday, unbeaten Kpando Heart of Lions will aim to end a string of draws as they battle unimpressive Hearts of Oak at the WAFA Park, Sogakope.

Lions and Hearts lie closely at the 13th and 14th positions on the league log respectively with the same points build-up (four) and both sides go into battle aiming to pick at least a point.

Tamale derby

In other matches on Sunday, Real Tamale United will play Karela United in a local derby at the Aliu Mahama Stadium, Berekum Chelsea play host to Nations FC at the Golden City Park, while Legon Cities FC face Bechem United at the El-Wak Stadium, Accra.

Dreams FC will travel to Nsenkyire Sports Arena at Samreboi to play FC Samartex,

On Monday, Great Olympics will host Accra Lions in another derby at the Accra Sports Stadium.
