The talk about the current economic hardships is now a cliché, and Reggae/Dancehall artiste Ras Kuuku is expressing massive concerns on his latest song, System Freeze.

In the song recorded by IbeeOndeBeat, Ras Kuuku sings about how the youth are struggling with no jobs despite their good educational qualifications and backgrounds.

He mentioned that nobody is spared of the “hell fire”. However, the government is adamant about the cries of the people.

Rendered in mid-tempo, Ras Kuuku urges political authorities to not seek their welfare and close their eyes to the plight of ordinary Ghanaians.

“This song is not for any political party but a message to those in charge of affairs of this country to up their game. We only have one Ghana and it’s time to fix it.

“I don’t expect any political party to use it as a campaign song because that is not my motive, since it is not a blame game.

“However, if any pressure group wants to use it for demonstration to demand accountability from the government, I am all for it,” he told Graphic Showbiz in an interview recently.      

  The one-time VGMA Reggae/ Dancehall artiste of the year is known for songs like Ade3bekye, Show Them Love, Yetali mu, Wo, Kpagbum style, Wa ye bibioo, 3 3 n 1 Me, Mpaebo and 1 2 1 2, among others.

He told Graphic Showbiz that it was about time musicians tackled relevant national issues and halted the unnecessary attention on women, love, money and partying addressed in their songs.                                      

 “We do not always have to talk about women, money and parties. We should be able to sing about sensitive issues bothering everyone and it takes a bold musician to do that. If Ghana is better, it is for all of us. However, if it’s bad, the masses suffer. We need change now,” he said.
