Only poor and jobless celebrities joined #OccupyJulorBiHouse protest, says DJ Azonto 

Hiplife artiste and Disc Jockey DJ Azonto, has taken a jab at celebrities who participated in the recent #OccupyJulorBiHouse protest, alleging that they are jobless and have no commitments in their lives.

An Accra-based civil society group organising the protest, Democracy Hub, planned the protest on Nkrumah Memorial Day, September 21 to call on “the President and members of the Economic Management Team to #FixTheCountry in light of the level of economic mismanagement and theft that has engulfed our government from the highest levels.A number of Ghanaian celebrities including singer Efya Nocturnal, Efia Odo, Stonebwoy, Pappy Kojo, Kwaw Kese, D Black among a host of others joined protestors on the streets to demand better living conditions from the government.

In a recent interview on Property FM, the Fa Ne Fom artiste stated his disapproval of their actions, claiming that the celebrities who joined the protest have nothing better doing with their lives.

“Celebrities who are broke and don’t own businesses and have nothing better to do with their lives are those who attended the demonstration.

“Did you see serious-minded celebrities at the demonstration? It is only poor artistes who attend such protests,” he noted.

 He challenged anyone to boldly come out and name one entertainment figure who joined the protest and has a  good record of being financially viable and owning a house.

“Celebrities who attended the protests are lazy because time is money, so if they had something better to do, why would they go and stand in the hot sun to protest?” he said.
