Black Stars arrive in Kumasi

Ghana’s Black Stars landed in Kumasi on Tuesday to continue their preparation for their upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar on Friday.

The 25 invited players started arriving in the country on Sunday and moved to camp on Monday.

So far, apart of goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi who is expected to join the team on Wednesday, all the players have reported to camp.

Coach Chris Hughton is expected to hold three sessions of training with the team in Kumasi before they game on Friday.

This will be the coach’s first World Cup qualifying game with the team despite playing seven games so far since he took over from Otto Addo.

Player in camp include skipper of the side, Andre Ayew who missed the last international friendly against USA and Mexico.

Also in camp is Dennis Odoi and Daniel Amartey who were not part of the team that was invited for the last international assignment.

The following are the players currently in camp: Richard Ofori, Joseph Wollacott, Alidu Seidu, Denis Odoi, Gideon Mensah, Abdul Fatawu Hamid, Daniel Amartey, Kasim Nuhu, Nicholas Opoku, and Nurudeen Abdulai.

The rest are Baba Idrissu, Majeed Ashimeru, Abdul Samed Salis, Edmund Addo, Mohammed Kudus, Andre Ayew, Osman Bukari, Joseph Painstil, Ernest Nuamah, Jordan Ayew, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Inaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo, and Jonathan Sowah.
