Kuta Body Alone’s Sand in My Sugar on December 1

BUDDING Ghanaian playwright Kuta Body Alone is set to captivate audiences once again with his latest play, “Sand in My Sugar,” scheduled for December 1, 2023 at the ICGC Zoe Temple, in Tema Community 5.

“Sand in My Sugar” explores the intriguing narrative of a young Christian couple facing the challenges that arise when a mother-in-law visits their matrimonial home. As the story unfolds, the audience will witness the husband’s struggleS to balance his roles as both a devoted spouse and a dutiful son.

In a chat, Kuta Body Alone told Graphic Showbiz that he hopes to delve into the themes of family interference and marital harmony and how he can similarly offer insights into how couples can overcome marital crises.

“I am very much dedicated to addressing the complexities of family dynamics and relationships and I am hopeful that this new play will resonate with the audience. Marriage is a very critical part of our society and I believe Sand in My Sugar can address some of the marital challenges most couple encounter especially when it comeS to family interference in marriages.

The cast include Bless Mensah, Joyce Nana Ama Maanu, Eric Nartey, Martin Ngoswini, Shadrack Opata, Nathaniel Ayivor, Ebenezer Ocran, Ernestina Odai, Bernice Ablah Adzraku, Prince Michael Kumah, and Mohammed Mansur.

Kuta Body Alone is also credited with Double S, a play that explores the struggles of a young couple who did not take the pain to know their genotypes until it was time for them to tie the knot.
