Davido crowns AfroFuture festival in style (Video)

The time was past 3:00 am in the early hours of Saturday, with fatigue dancing on the faces of many revelers who were still waiting at the ElWak stadium for Nigeria’s Afrobeats star, Davido to perform.

His performance was expected to crown this year’s two day AfroFuture festival which kicked off on Thursday, December 28 with spectacular performances from the likes of Ghana’s Black Sherif and Samini.

With patrons having had to wait for almost two hours after Adekunle Gold’s performance, boredom started setting in.

Well, MC Lolastic and Mensa Jr lit up the venue with some back to back old hiplife tunes to lighten up the crowds’ moods.

And then, then the big announcement of Davido coming on stage was greeted with roaring cheers.

Having had to wait for long minutes, the crowd was thrown into frenzy when the Unavailable hitmaker hit the stage.

Davido apologised for the delay, citing technical hitches. With that said, he kicked off his assignment with some of his old tunes like Damiduro, Back When to which the crowd danced and sang along.

Davido’s energy on stage was quite infectious, charging the crowd to cheer him up during his time on stage.

He gracefully served patrons with performances of a collection of his hit songs such as Dream Girl, If, Feel, Assurance, Unavailable, Blow My Mind among others.

The likes of King Promise and Stonebwoy joined Davido on stage during his performance, adding up to the whole excitement.

The second day also saw performances by Camidoh, R2Bees, South Africa’s Musah Keys and Adekunle Gold.
