Chef Faila’s soldier husband speaks: “I trained her the military way”

The husband of Chef Abdul-Razak Failatu, Captain Reginald Ofosuhene Adjei says he trained his wife the military way hence her resilience in the ongoing Guinness World Record (GWR) cook-a-thon [cooking contest].

Failatu Abdul-Razak started the journey to break a Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon on January 1, 2024.

In an interview with Zionfelix, Captain Reginald Ofosuhene Adjei gave reasons why he thinks his wife can cook for over 120 hours to make her dream a reality.

He said his wife underwent military-style training before undertaking her extraordinary culinary journey.

Captain Agyei said his wife possessed the extraordinary ability to cook for over 144 hours, surpassing current record holder Alan Fisher’s record 119 hours and 57 minutes.

He revealed that he trained his wife using military techniques, enhancing her endurance and efficiency in the kitchen. He attributed Chef Faila’s cooking ability for extended periods to this specialised training.

The proud husband highlighted his wife’s unique training, her passion for cooking and fitness as key factors contributing to her success in surpassing existing records.

According to Captain Agyei, Chef Faila routinely engaged in nonstop cooking sessions lasting an impressive 24 hours when fulfilling client orders. This dedication and stamina, honed through military-style training, he said had become instrumental in her quest to set a new world record.

He expressed confidence that Chef Faila’s unique training, combined with her passion for cooking and fitness would position her to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

Failatu is attempting to break the current Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon. She is aiming to clock 120-hours.

26-year-old Hilda Baci had achieved the longest cooking marathon with a time of 93 hours and 11 minutes.

Failatu is undertaking the project at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale.
