Government Vows to Pursue Justice in Ahmed Suale’s Murder Investigation

Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame, reiterated the government’s resolve to resolve the murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale. He assured ongoing extensive investigations, including collaboration with international bodies like the FBI.

Mr. Dame stressed the importance of understanding the motive behind Suale’s murder, cautioning against immediate links to his journalism. He cited the complexity of the case, highlighting efforts by the CID and analysis of data from Suale’s phones.

Addressing Parliament’s concerns, Mr. Dame emphasized the need to preserve investigative integrity, using Fennec Okyere’s case as an example of misjudged motives. He dismissed claims of direct links between Suale’s murder and his journalism, advocating for evidence-based conclusions.

Confidentiality for arrested individuals was assured to aid ongoing investigations. Mr. Dame concluded with a reaffirmation of the government’s dedication to bringing justice to Suale’s case and other unresolved murders, highlighting collaborative efforts between local and international agencies for closure and accountability.
