Resignation of Keli Gadzekpo as board of chairman of ECG

Keli Gadzekpo has stepped down from his role as the Chairman of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG). In his resignation letter to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo dated March 26, 2024, Gadzekpo cited personal reasons for his decision. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the country in this capacity for the past seven years and extended well wishes for ECG and the government’s continued success in providing stable electricity. Gadzekpo, known for his entrepreneurial achievements, notably co-founding the Databank Group of Companies, brings over two decades of experience in investment banking. Currently serving as the Board Chairman for Enterprise Group, he demonstrates strong leadership and strategic skills. Moreover, his commitment to community development and philanthropy is evident through his role as Chairman of the Databank Foundation. Gadzekpo’s educational background includes attending Achimota School, earning a BSc in Accounting from Brigham Young University, and obtaining a master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government as a Mason Fellow.
