Turn Cathedral into
The Trades Union Congress (TUC) has asked the government to convert the National Cathedral project into a hospital. Suggesting a number of actions that the government must take to help improve the current economic challenges the country was facing, the TUC said the Cathedral project was not an essential expenditure and it would better serve a purpose if converted into a hospital. Addressing this year’s national May Day parade in Bolgatanga, the Upper East Regional capital, yesterday, the Secretary-General of the TUC, Dr Anthony Yaw Baah, said: “We believe that government can lead us out of this crisis by cutting […]Read more...

Lewis Hamilton: Mercedes
Lewis Hamilton will not decide whether to return to Formula 1 this season until he sees the results of an inquiry into the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Hamilton is “disillusioned” with F1, his Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff has said, as a result of last year’s title-deciding race. Hamilton lost the championship to Red Bull’s Max Verstappen after FIA race director Michael Masi did not apply the rules correctly in a late safety-car period. Insiders say Hamilton has lost trust in the governing body as a result. Mercedes declined to comment on the situation surrounding Hamilton’s future when approached by […]Read more...

Verstappen handed further
Max Verstappen has been handed a 10-second penalty for causing a Turn 27 collision with Lewis Hamilton in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, plus two penalty points. The title protagonists were embroiled in a bizarre incident on Lap 37 of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix when Verstappen, who was asked to return the lead to Hamilton having been deemed to gain an advantage going off track earlier at Turn 1, slowed to let his rival past. Hamilton, however, was caught off-guard by the slowing Red Bull and attempted to jink left in avoidance, clipping the car ahead and damaging his […]Read more...

Hamilton beats Verstappen
Lewis Hamilton won a controversial debut Saudi Arabian Grand Prix from pole position ahead of Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas amid two red-flag stoppages. The result means the two championship protagonists go to the Abu Dhabi finale level on points. Hamilton led Bottas and Verstappen – who shrugged off his qualifying crash – at the start but on Lap 10, Mick Schumacher spun and hit the Turn 23 barriers. The Safety Car soon turned into a red flag, crucially giving Verstappen a free stop in the pits, while the Mercedes had stopped under yellows. The Lap 15 standing start saw […]Read more...

Max Verstappen &
The most intense Formula 1 championship fight for years will be decided over the next two weekends in the Middle East. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen leads Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton by eight points. Races in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi bring the season to a close, both on tracks that contain unknowns for the teams and drivers. Verstappen has the advantage – with his points lead, he can become champion on the new street track in Jeddah this weekend if results go his way. But Hamilton has the momentum. He is heading into the climax of the season on the back […]Read more...
