Al-Nassr club president who signed Cristiano Ronaldo resigns amid poor campaign

The President of Saudi Arabian football club Al-Nassr, Musalli Al-Muammar, who played a key role in securing the deal to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to the club, has resigned, according to reports in the Saudi Gazette.

Al-Nassr’s season has been underwhelming and they are unlikely to win any silverware.

Ronaldo moved to the Middle East in a high-profile transfer following the 2022 World Cup, during which he criticized his former club, Manchester United.

Although he has shown flashes of his brilliance, his time at Al-Nassr has been marked by frustration and the team has been in decline since his arrival.

The current board of directors at Al-Nassr is set to be dissolved, and a new board and president may be appointed before the end of the season.

Manager Rudi Garcia was sacked earlier in the season due to poor results.
