Ursula Owusu boosts Faith Ladies with GH₵25,000 ahead of crucial WPL fixture

Faith Ladies FC, a Women’s Premier League Club based in Dansoman, has received a significant boost ahead of their deciding league fixture against Hasaacas Ladies on Saturday, April 29 in Sekondi.

The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West Constituency, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, made a surprise donation of GH₵25,000 to the team during their visit to her office yesterday, to support their preparations for the crucial match. 

Currently second on the league table, Faith Ladies could win the southern zone competition if they secure a victory, having won 10 out of 17 matches played. 

The upcoming match is expected to be a fierce battle between the two top clubs, with both sides vying for the Premier League Trophy.

Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful, who is also the Communications and Digitalisation Minister, encouraged the team not to be afraid of the task ahead and expressed her support for their efforts. 

“We are proud of what you have achieved so far and this is to further express our support for you as make this final attempt to win the zonal league. We have faith in you and as your name suggest, go with the big faith that you can make it,” she said.

The CEO of the club, Ebenezer Adotey Allotey, expressed the team’s gratitude for the MP’s timely intervention and continued support.

Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful previously supported the club to win the Women Premier League Super Cup Trophy against Ampem Darkoa Ladies in a pre-season tournament hosted in Tamale.
