My success will inspire budding artistes —Olivetheboy

FAST rising Afrobeats artiste, Olivetheboy says his recent feat one of the most streamed Ghanaian musician will encourage other young acts not to give up their dreams easily.

Olivetheboy is basking in lots of pride after being named number one on the official Chartmetric list of the top-five most streamed Ghanaian artistes in the first half of the year 2023 last week.

The report is compiled by renowned music data analytics giants, Soundcharts and Chartmetrics, an all-in-one platform for artistes and music industry professionals, providing comprehensive streaming, social, and audience data.

It observed streaming metrics from January to June 2023 for Ghanaian musicians and their songs across five different streaming platforms—Spotify, Audiomack, Tiktok, Boomplay and YouTube.

In the analysis, Olivetheboy’s maiden song, Goodsin beat the likes of King Promise’s Terminator and Into the Future by Stonebwoy to take the first spot.

Earlier this week, a video emerged of Nigeria’s Mr Eazi and King Promise partying at The Republic Bar & Grill in Accra and singing the song’s lyrics word for word, which is possibly a good endorsement for Olivetheboy’s growing brand.

In a chat with Graphic Showbiz, the artiste who released his maiden song in May this year said his music deeds will encourage his colleagues to push harder despite the prevailing challenges that kill dream of young acts.

“For me, I know that where there is a will, there’s always a way and so they shouldn’t give up. I understand that I’m young but I have always wanted to do this and by God’s grace, I released my debut single in May.

“Having realised the power of social media and music streaming platforms and with support from my team, I went all out using every available online platform and that is certainly paying off.

“From the latest report, my song has 10 million digital streams after blowing up on Tiktok following a challenge started by entertainer and Nigerian influencer, Endurance,” he stated.
