Army Ladies beat Hasaacas Ladies to win 2023 Women’s Premier Super Cup

Army Ladies put up a spirited performance to emerge winners of the 2023 Women’s Premier Super Cup after defeating Hasaacas Ladies 2-1 in a thrilling final at the Kyebi Astro Turf in the Eastern Region on Sunday, October 8.

Army Ladies took the lead through Latifa Mohammed in the 2nd minute but Fidous Yakubu grabbed the equalizer inside the 16th minute through a spot kick.

Harriet Adjetey grabbed the winner on the 81st minute as it ended 2-1 in favour of the Accra-based side.

It was double delight for Army Ladies as their player Adama Alhassan won the most Valuable Player of the tournament with Faith Ladies Latifa Musah emerging as the Discovery of the tournament .

With three (3) goals in the tournament, Hasaacas Ladies’ Mukarama Abdulai ended the tournament as the top scorer, while Diana Maaweremou of Hasaacas Ladies emerged as the best goalkeeper.

Army Ladies Head Coach, Joseph Anyagre also went home with the Best Coach award.

In the third place play off, Berry Ladies beat Faith Ladies 1-0 to win Bronze in the 2023 Women’s Premier Super Cup.

The first half of the match was an exhilarating affair, and both teams appeared intent on outdoing each other but chances were far and few as the game wore on.

Christabel Boateng slotted home the winning goal in the 46th minute marks – few seconds after the break to put the Berries in front.

While the game was heading to an end, Faith Ladies took firm control, with Beauty Abena Julius was resolute at the back for Berry Ladies who hanged on for victory.

Goalkeeper Grace Akrofi was adjudged player of the match as the game ended 1:0 in favour of Berry Ladies.
