“IT TAKES MEN WITH FINANCIAL POWER TO MISBEHAVE” – MR. BISMARK SELLALLY LAWSON.

Priscilla Koranteng Brown – 13/02/2024

Mr.Bismark Sellally Lawson says that it only takes men with financial power to misbehave whiles still keeping the home stable, based on the research made by the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS), that 2 out of 10 married men had two or more sexual partners in 2022. The 2022 Ghana Demographic and Health Survey indicates that 17.5% of married Ghanaian men engage in extramarital relationships. A startling revelation from the survey is that 17.5% of married Ghanaian men engage in extramarital relationships.

In an interview on the Morning Dew on Ait tv, Mr. Lawson suggested that men with financial power are more likely to engage in such behavior while still maintaining stability in their homes. He emphasized that it is rare to find a financially disadvantaged married man with multiple sexual partners. This led him to conclude that the prevalence of infidelity among men with financial means points to underlying issues within Ghana’s economic system.

The survey also casts a spotlight on the younger demographic. Approximately 10% of men aged 15-24 in Ghana are reported to have multiple sexual partners, with a substantial 35.2% engaging in sexual activities outside of a committed relationship.
This data points towards a trend of risky sexual behaviors among the youth, which poses significant challenges in terms of public health and societal norms.
