John Mahama’s Office Denies Affiliation with Alleged NPP Creation

In a recent development, the Office of the Flag bearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has firmly denied any connection to the “Social Democratic Forum” and its allegations against the flag bearer.

A statement released by Joyce Bawa Mogtari, the Aide to Former President John Mahama, refuted claims by the group suggesting that the NDC’s flag bearer was excessively leaning on Alan Kyerematen and his Butterfly Movement for political advantage in the Ashanti Region, known as the stronghold of the NPP.

The statement emphasized that the alleged group was a fabrication of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and was completely unfamiliar to the NDC and its flag bearer.

“The Mahama 2024 Campaign has been alerted to a statement circulated by individuals linked to the NPP, purportedly from a group named “Social Democratic Forum.”

This phantom group is just another creation of the NPP, who are evidently distressed by the increasing dissatisfaction in the Ashanti Region towards their governance characterized by mismanagement, corruption, nepotism, and abuse of power,” the statement declared. It further highlighted that the NPP’s failure in its stronghold has significantly diminished its popularity, resulting in notable support for the NDC in the Ashanti Region, much to the NPP’s surprise.

Moreover, it stated, “The statement from the unidentified group is merely a misguided and frantic attempt to undermine the strong criticism faced by the NPP’s flag bearer for his efforts to distance himself from his government’s poor governance.”

This development underscores the escalating political dynamics as the NDC and NPP navigate the landscape ahead of the upcoming elections.
