NGO supports youth with life skills

The programme was geared towards equipping the youth with meaningful life skills that could help them generate income and be a source of employment.

The training held at the Model C, D/A Basic School in the Central Region brought together people in the soap-making business, yogurt-making, satellite dish installation, and beads-making business who taught participants how to make those items and gain profit for themselves.https://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/ads?us_privacy=1—&client=ca-pub-1220784161199635&output=html&h=280&slotname=7046753112&adk=2195800243&adf=1531280845&pi=t.ma~as.7046753112&w=589&fwrn=4&fwrnh=100&lmt=1656946408&rafmt=1&psa=1&format=589×280&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.graphic.com.gh%2Fnews%2Feducation%2Fngo-supports-youth-with-life-skills.html&fwr=0&fwrattr=true&rpe=1&resp_fmts=3&wgl=1&uach=WyJXaW5kb3dzIiwiMTAuMC4wIiwieDg2IiwiIiwiMTAzLjAuNTA2MC42NiIsW10sbnVsbCxudWxsLCI2NCIsW1siLk5vdC9BKUJyYW5kIiwiOTkuMC4wLjAiXSxbIkdvb2dsZSBDaHJvbWUiLCIxMDMuMC41MDYwLjY2Il0sWyJDaHJvbWl1bSIsIjEwMy4wLjUwNjAuNjYiXV0sZmFsc2Vd&dt=1656946410083&bpp=3&bdt=1293&idt=160&shv=r20220629&mjsv=m202206280101&ptt=9&saldr=aa&abxe=1&cookie=ID%3D4a7aaf4a8aa458e1-22652c386ed3002d%3AT%3D1626103425%3ART%3D1656946228%3AS%3DALNI_Mb46fpweXCJ6rrq1HrhKpoYrHcbkA&gpic=UID%3D000003ac3eff0282%3AT%3D1649347866%3ART%3D1656943779%3AS%3DALNI_MYMvpHTRQMAk7c6hOu_K9Pc19_eLw&prev_fmts=160×600&correlator=8460640042342&frm=20&pv=1&ga_vid=833880811.1590477962&ga_sid=1656943778&ga_hid=640946924&ga_fc=1&ga_cid=1908576083.1656943778&u_tz=0&u_his=1&u_h=1080&u_w=1920&u_ah=1040&u_aw=1920&u_cd=24&u_sd=1&dmc=8&adx=569&ady=1675&biw=1903&bih=912&scr_x=0&scr_y=300&eid=44759876%2C44759927%2C44759842%2C31068105%2C42531606%2C42531607&oid=2&pvsid=3098793597989103&tmod=1689238998&uas=0&nvt=1&ref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.graphic.com.gh%2Fnews.html&eae=0&fc=896&brdim=0%2C0%2C0%2C0%2C1920%2C0%2C1920%2C1040%2C1920%2C912&vis=1&rsz=%7C%7CpoeEbr%7C&abl=CS&pfx=0&fu=128&bc=31&ifi=2&uci=a!2&btvi=1&fsb=1&xpc=FtjrUCteVK&p=https%3A//www.graphic.com.gh&dtd=573

The Founder of the foundation, Benjamin Essien-Davies, said the vision of his foundation was to empower the younger generation by providing educational needs to young people, as well as providing them with training and entrepreneurial skills.

He added that it was also the aim of the foundation to facilitate the development and progressive growth of the younger generation in various communities, and “this is what we seek to achieve with the life skills training”.

“Our vision is echoed in our motto which is raising generals among the youth, especially those from deprived homes and communities to take hold of their lives and make something beneficial out of it,” he said.

One of the facilitators and Chief Executive Officer for Coded Fresh Yogurt, Christabel Afia Timah Sarpong, said her outfit was also committed to inspiring young people to make the best out of themselves always and that was a good opportunity to impart the younger generation with what she had.

“I have interest in helping people who are passionate about gaining life skills for themselves and this gathering is the perfect opportunity to help,” she said.

She encouraged all to continually seek to get some life skills training to attach to their education in order to gain more profit as the world was changing to a more practical approach to things.

One of the participants, Rebecca Tetteh, said she was pleased that the foundation organised the training for people in her community.

“It is important that you do not only train the mind but the hands as well, and I am really glad the foundation brought this together for us and I have personally learnt a lot,” she said.
