Former Berekum Chelsea defender, Nicholas Opoku, is in Luanda, Angola to join the team for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Palancas Negras today.

The 25-year-old player got a late call up after the Black Stars lost the services of two centre backs, Salisu Mohammed and Alexander Djiku.

The two players will not be available for selection due to injury. While Salisu could not play due to injury, Djiku picked up a knock during the first leg game at the Baba Yara Stadium and was replaced by Joseph Aidoo.

Their absence for the return leg has created a vacuum in the team which Coach Chris Hughton handed a late call up to the Amiens defender to fill.
