Ampem Darkoa Ladies arrive home after WAFU Zone B Cup triumph

Ghana Women’s Premier League side Ampem Darkoa Ladies arrived home on Saturday, September 2 after winning the CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU Zone B qualifying competition held in Benin City, Nigeria.

They were welcomed at the Kotoka International Airport by President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku, General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo, owner of Berry Ladies FC, Dr Gifty Oware-Mensah and Head of Women’s Football Development at the GFA, Ama Brobbey Williams.

Also present was the bankroller of the club, Nana Opoku Fosu Gyeabour II, who had been with the team in Nigeria throughout the competition and Head Coach Nana Joe Adarkwa.

The Die Hard Supporters Union of Ghana were also in attendance to cheer the gallant team on as they arrived yesterday.

Ampem Darkoa defeated Delta Queens of Nigeria 1-0 in the final on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium to be crowned champions of the zone.

In their journey to the final, free-scoring Ampem Darkoa registered some remarkable victories against Amis Du Monde (4-2), Athletico Abidjan (3-1) and Sam Nelly FC (6-1). Below are some photos from their arrival.
