Emeka Rollas, the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), has given an encouraging update on the health condition of veteran actor Zack Orji after a death hoax circulated on social media.
Orji was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the National Hospital in Abuja on New Year’s Eve.
During an interview on Afia TV on YouTube, Rollas revealed that Orji had undergone two brain surgeries and has made significant progress in his recovery. He emphasized that Orji is currently in good health and is able to communicate. Rollas expressed his disappointment towards those who spread false rumors about the actor’s passing, stating that it was inhumane and distressing for Orji’s family, particularly his wife.
Rollas also mentioned that preparations are underway to send Orji abroad for post-surgery evaluation. He condemned the trend of people spreading fake news for personal gain or to increase their social media following. Rollas promptly addressed the death hoax and clarified that Orji is alive and well.
It is important to note that Zack Orji had been hospitalized after collapsing in his house’s toilet, but subsequent reports indicated a significant improvement in his condition. However, there had been no public updates on his health until now.
This incident comes shortly after the passing of another veteran Nollywood actor, Amaechi Muonagor, who died on March 24 at the age of 62 after battling with stroke and kidney-related disease.
The AGN, along with fans and well-wishers, are relieved by the positive update on Zack Orji’s health and continue to offer their support and prayers for his full recovery.
