Former President John Mahama recently visited Isshau Yaro, a young man who was severely injured during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence.

During his visit, Mahama highlighted Isshau’s story, emphasizing the need for justice and compassion.

Mahama described Isshau as a vibrant individual whose life was forever changed by the violence in Ayawaso West Wuogon.

He called on President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Bawumia to acknowledge Isshau’s suffering and take action to ensure justice and support for him.

Referring to the findings of the Commission of Enquiry, Mahama stressed the importance of holding accountable those responsible for the violence and providing compensation to victims like Isshau.

Despite the commission’s recommendations, Isshau has yet to receive the compensation he deserves.

Mahama urged the current administration to show empathy towards Isshau and other victims by providing them with the necessary support to rebuild their lives.

He promised that if given the chance to lead again, his government would prioritize Isshau’s well-being and ensure he receives the compensation he needs to move forward.
