Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) officers at the Elubo Sector Command successfully apprehended a 32-year-old Ivorian murder suspect who fled to Ghana to evade justice. The suspect, identified as Nduoba Essoi Fulgence, allegedly committed a heinous crime by slashing the throat of his girlfriend, known as Nda Abekan Anne, in Cote d’Ivoire before seeking refuge across the border.

Acting on intelligence provided by their Ivorian counterparts and local police, GIS officers launched a surveillance operation to locate Fulgence, who was believed to be hiding out in the village of Edwakpole, near Anyinase in the Ellembele District of the Western Region.

Led by Assistant Commissioner of Immigration Joshual Krakue, the team conducted an intensive search, eventually pinpointing Fulgence’s whereabouts. After a two-hour operation, he was apprehended in a house suspected to be his family’s residence.

Following his arrest, Fulgence was handed over to Ivorian authorities at the Elubo Border in Noe. The GIS expressed gratitude to all involved parties for their collaboration in bringing the fugitive to justice.

The swift action and collaboration between Ghanaian and Ivorian law enforcement agencies led to the successful apprehension of a dangerous criminal, ensuring that he faces the consequences of his actions
