In an official statement released on Saturday, the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, shed light on the recent dismissal of Dr. John Ofori-Tenkorang as the Director-General of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).

Contrary to speculations of misconduct, the Presidency emphasized that Dr. Ofori-Tenkorang’s departure was not marred by any malfeasance.

President Akufo-Addo’s decision to end Dr. Ofori-Tenkorang’s tenure at SSNIT, effective Monday, April 8, was part of the ongoing restructuring efforts initiated by the government.

The dismissed Director-General has been instructed to pass on his responsibilities to Kofi Bosompem Osafo-Maafo by Monday, April 15.

Despite swirling rumors suggesting otherwise, the Presidency attested to Dr. Ofori-Tenkorang’s commendable performance during his tenure.

President Akufo-Addo expressed satisfaction with the significant transformation that SSNIT underwent under Dr. Ofori-Tenkorang’s leadership.
